Prehistoric woolly mammoth ivory is a beautiful and naturally-preserved remnant from the last ice age. While mammoths roamed most of North America, their tusks are being unearthed today in Alaska, the Yukon, and Siberia, where they were preserved in the permafrost for up to 200,000 years.
